Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is not tattooing...well, it kinda is...

Scalp Micropigmentation is a very time-intensive, detailed, artistic process of creating the realistic appearance of scalp hairline and increased hair density for men and women alike. Superficially, it could be described like tattooing as it does deposit a pigment into the epidermis. Tattoo artists, despite all their artistic talent, are not trained and do not have the experience to create realistic hair follicle appearance.

SMP can benefit men and women. For men, it is more often used in conjunction with a short-cropped haircut style and the SMP pigment can fill in the areas of hair loss as well as bring forward the front edge of the scalp line for those with receding hairlines. With skill, the SMP technician can perfectly blend the new pigment with the existing hair follicles seamlessly. Probably the only way to tell the difference is by feel.

SMP can also be used to fill in thinning areas anywhere for men and women. Color-matched pigment using multiple blends of organic pigments, this technique can be used with longer hair cuts. Regardless of the cause of your hair loss: aging, male-pattern, hormonal changes, scarring, etc., thick, full hair is a proxy and indicator of good general health and one of the subconscious judgments we make about others with the first impressions upon meeting others. So, yeah, it is important.

Elsie SooSzetoJones is an award-winning, internationally recognized SMP artist offering her services in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area as well as in Orange County, CA. We implore you to do your research and due diligence in seeking out the best practitioner for your individual needs. Elsie will never rush a treatment and will often spend 3-5 hours of intensely detailed concentrated effort to render up the best results. In the SMP professional forums we have seen many examples of botched work: Using the wrong needles, using tattooing inks, merging/migrating pigments, and completely unnatural hairlines that are not present in nature. Elsie always aims for a natural look that is imperceptible from natural hair.

Elsie is always willing to discuss with you your needs and concerns. Contact us to start the process of improved, youthful appearance and increased confidence regardless of your age or gender.
